Convection Rotisserie Oven

Convection rotisserie ovens are countertop ovens that look like super-sized toaster ovens but they can do a lot more. This convenient kitchen appliance that do practically anything a regular oven does, and perhaps more. You can use it for baking, roasting, broiling, rotisserie cooking, even toasting with some models. As the name implies, it uses convection technology for cooking, which means that hot air is circulated around the oven by a fan, resulting in much more even cooking of food. The moving hot air also offers better browning of surface - you can bake a chicken with nicely browned crisp skin, while the meat underneath stays tender and juicy!

Not only is food cooked in convection ovens very tasty, cooking times are a lot faster. What used to take 15 minutes with a traditional oven may now take under 10 minutes. So, when you first start using an oven like this, be careful to watch the time you leave food in to bake or broil.

Convection rotisserie ovens have well sized transparent glass windows so you can easily observe how the food is cooking, and make manual adjustments as appropriate. Some ovens offer the choice of a convection or non-convection baked modes, and give a user additional flexibility of choice. In most cases, though, once someone has tried convection cooking, they prefer to keep using it, whether it is for the quicker time it takes, or the better taste of food.

The advantage of a convection rotisserie oven is that you get a countertop rotisserie as part of the package. Rotisserie cooking is where meat like a whole chicken or a pork roast is skewered in the middle on a spit rod and rotated and roasted in the oven. The cooking is really healthy, oil drips down to the pan as the meat is being rotated, reducing the amount of fat that will be consumed while the convection heat nicely browns the outside.

Traditionally, rotisserie cooking occurs in the outdoors - as the meat is rotated through an open outdoor fire. With today's convection technology, you can easily cook a perfectly oven roasted rotisserie chicken right on your kitchen countertop. Don't forget to get some cotton strings to tie up the legs, otherwise, as the food rotates, the legs may drag on the pan and stop the rotation.

Some of the advantages of getting a convection oven with rotisserie has been mentioned: more even cooking of meat and vegetables, tender and juicy meat, time savings and the rotisserie function. Users also like this tabletop convection oven because it demands less energy and generates less heat. It may be a hassle to preheat an entire wall oven just to bake a small casserole.

Factor in the easier clean up and maintenance with this smaller oven, and it's not hard to see why so many users have chosen to use this as their primary oven rather than the big wall or range oven. For people living in studio or efficiency apartments that do have full sized kitchens with ovens, this is a no brainer. It fits in small spaces and will probably do everything you would have wanted from a regular oven. For what it costs, what a bargain.
